About Functional Breathing

 

Our primary goal is to enlighten as many individuals as possible about the art and science of breathing, and we are actively seeking skilled individuals to join us in accomplishing this mission.

The purposeful formulation of the BREATHE Method, crafted by Functional Breathing, was aimed at establishing a framework that seamlessly adapts breath education and training to various settings, whether it's a personal training studio, MMA gym, boardroom, or sporting field. This approach stems from our recognition that breath conditioning programs must be tailored to specific needs and seamlessly integrated. For example, a Yoga instructor may focus on breath minimization during a sun salutation routine, while a personal trainers might have their clients perform high intensity interval training (HIIT) whilst breathing a specific way. The fundamental principle remains consistent; it's the application that varies.

 

 

Functional Breathing™ has 5 levels:

 

Participant: Individuals who attend breath conditioning classes or educational presentations. Participants can enhance their health and performance by acquiring knowledge and skills related to breathing, without delving into its mechanics.

 

Affiliate: Those who work with Functional Breathing to provide referrals and exposure. 

​

Practitioner: Those who have completed the required training or have been given RPL, they have passed the Practitioner exam, and have submitted four case studies. Practitioners possess advanced knowledge and can determine which breathing styles are suitable for specific individuals. They can create personalized breathing routines to optimize their own well-being and performance but are not authorized to instruct others.

​

Instructor: Individuals who have successfully completed instructor training. Thanks to their elevated expertise, Functional Breathing™ Instructors can co-design breath classes that seamlessly complement their preferred modality.

CTM (Coach, Trainer, Mentor): CTM's work to develop the skills and competencies of Practitioners and Instructors.
